So excited that we got to visit Together for Cambodia’s new home last week.
This incredible organisation, supports about 40 at risk children and provides them with a stable, loving home, a quality education and the opportunity to grow into Cambodia’s future movers and shakers.
It’s been a few years in the making and has been achieved through the passion, drive and energy of Together for Cambodia founder, Lidia Linde Ginesta and the support of sponsors from around the world.
This home has been built with the intention of growth and has the capacity to support 125 children.
It has a dedicated school building, which will also eventually be open to local children and a sponsorship program will be introduced for poor children from the local community who can’t afford an education.
The sports field will also be available for hire to the community and other NGOs in Siem Reap.
So much thought has gone into this place and much of the design has been done by the children – like the awesome bars on the windows. So many places in Cambodia have bars on the windows and they give the feeling of a prison. But these ones are bright and happy. In the school building they’ve been created to look like an open book. These gorgeous hearts are on the compassion building and the boys dorms have a smiling face.
The Children’s Land is still a work in progress. One building is still under construction and footpaths and more trees are still to be planted. A vegetable garden will be planted and there are plans for chooks (chickens for the non Aussies).
Lidia has become a great friend to us here in Cambodia and we are constantly inspired by her energy and passion. She had a vision and she has made it happen. Through the hard work of Lidia and her team, these children have hope for a safe and positive future and the opportunity to follow their dreams.

haven’t they put together the most beautiful looking building and grounds for these children. Hopefully these less fortunate kids will embrace this new space and grow to become well rounded educated people.

Yes Sally, it is beautiful. Looking forward to seeing it with all the gardens and paths finished.
