Holiday escapes to tropical islands are a lovely segue from the routine of daily life. We took a little time out last week to visit friends holidaying in Phuket.
This stunning sunset was a great introduction on our first night.
And it is hard not to be impressed by scenes like this.
But we were there to catch up with friends, celebrate a milestone birthday and their wedding anniversary and on that front we were rewarded 10-fold with heaps of laughs, good times and memories to bring home.
So, happy birthday Gaynor and congratulations on your wedding anniversary Jeff and Gaynor. It was awesome catching up with you guys. (It’s hard for the Joker to be serious at any time, and especially in photos.)
We will bring you more on our Phuket experience and the adventure of getting there and back in later posts.
In the meantime, feel free to share your own tropical island experiences in the comments.
This post is part of Four Around the World’s Snapshot Story Sunday linkup. Thanks so much to Holly for the invite to join the linkup and share our story.

We thank you both so much, being able to celebrate this time with you both was a fantastic adventure. Great family and friends nothing could have beaten that.

So glad you had an amazing time Gaynor. Family and friends are often what make a holiday. It was so cool to catch up with you guys in this part of the world.

Looks like such a beautiful part of the world, and what a great reason to visit!

Thanks Alyssa. It is a very beautiful part of the world. Interestingly, I’ve just been told it was once ruled by Cambodia. I will have to do some more research on this. I imagine that would have been in the Angkor era.
